G8 Successfully Completes Pioneering Offshore Windfarm Project in South Korea
G8 Subsea, Singapore-Norwegian Subsea Technology Company have successfully completed a landmark Offshore Wind Project in Kochang South West Korea.
The work involving approximately 10km of 154kV export power cable transmission line that will transmit 100MW of wind power to the grid. G8 Seatrench Team had successfully implemented the Hermes II high velocity jet system and Seatrench SRT precision subsea trencher to complete the cable protection works successfully under challenging offshore conditions. The SRT trencher is a designed to cut the seabed to up to 3.2m with proprietary high velocity jet technology to achieve effective cable burial protection in a single pass.
The project is part the 1st phase of up to 20 turbines to be installed offshore and G8 Group is proud to be the select few of foreign experts to implement world leading technologies to reduce maintenance cost and contribute to Offshore Wind Development in Korea.
